I ran my 2nd half marathon in February. It was NOT pretty. I hurt my knee the week of the race and shouldn't have even attempted to run the race. My knee gave out on me at 5 miles. I ran/walked the next 8 miles in SO much pain. I could hardly walk after I crossed the finish line. I was so upset. I have been taking it easy on the running front since then and am only running 3 miles at at time because my knee still yells at me at that point. I am still going to the gym and doing cycle, hiit, powerfit, etc classes and am fine:)
Me and my kiddos after the half,,,I am hurting!
Me and my Daddy after the race- he was the first person I saw after and I am 32 years old but fell into his arms bawling in pain. I love my Daddy!
Me in the hotel after....you can tell I am putting all my weight on my left knee since my right knee won't work!
Last weekend I ran a 5k that one of my friends is in charge of and Kayla ran the 1 mile fun run. She has also been having problems with her right knee(weird!) and this was the first time she had ran in months.
Bad pic- it was really windy and this was after Kayla finished her run.

A) Your kids and their glasses? ADORABLE! B) I teared up just thinking about having my daddy at the finish line bc I SO would have bawled too! haha C) I've been having problems with my knee too big time so after having my little pity party I've been spending some time on the elliptical and it's really been working for me! I'm kind've enjoying the running break and knowing I can still get my cardio in without running and knee pain. But I'm pretty sure that this fall I want to run another half, so I'll be starting back in August training. Proud of you for running that half despite the pain!!! And thank you for encouraging me to get back on the fit train! Your comments really hit home. You're the best! =)
