What a difference 3 years makes...

It has been an interesting week.  I tried on dresses for Easter on Monday at Ross and I felt so out of place standing in the section of the store where all of the smaller size dresses were hanging. I felt like I didn't belong there.  I even took dresses too big to the fitting room because I didn't think that I could possibly fit into smaller ones.  The problem is I still see myself as her....

Kayla's Mile Run

I absolutely love how Kayla's school makes such a big deal about the mile run they have to do every year.  They get to ride on the school bus to the local park and run a chip timed race.  Parents come and cheer them on and it is so much fun.  Parents can also run the race with their kids.  I have ran now for 3 years:)  At first Kayla was unsure if she wanted me to run or not which of course I was fine with but then she decided that she might need me there for encouragement.  She was doing GREAT with her running until she hurt her knee a few months ago and she has struggled since then.  I was so proud of her yesterday she ran hard even though her knee was hurting.

Note to self- always suck in your gut in pictures;)  I HATE that problem area!

I can't believe I forgot to tell you!

I can't believe I haven't mentioned that I am now a certified group fitness instructor. Several of the instructors at my gym convinced me to get certified and hopefully I will start teaching soon:). Sorry for my lack of posts. I am using my iPad more lately than my computer and blogger won't let me upload pictures from it:(. Oh and 62 pounds gone...only 8 pounds left until my ultimate goal weight!!!

Latest Races

I ran my 2nd half marathon in February.  It was NOT pretty.  I hurt my knee the week of the race and shouldn't have even attempted to run the race.  My knee gave out on me at 5 miles.  I ran/walked the next 8 miles in SO much pain.  I could hardly walk after I crossed the finish line.  I was so upset.  I have been taking it easy on the running front since then and am only running 3 miles at at time because my knee still yells at me at that point.  I am still going to the gym and doing cycle, hiit, powerfit, etc classes and am fine:)

Me and my kiddos after the half,,,I am hurting!
Me and my Daddy after the race- he was the first person I saw after and I am 32 years old but fell into his arms bawling in pain.  I love my Daddy!

Me in the hotel after....you can tell I am putting all my weight on my left knee since my right knee won't work!

Last weekend I ran a 5k that one of my friends is in charge of and Kayla ran the 1 mile fun run.  She has also been having problems with her right knee(weird!) and this was the first time she had ran in months.

Bad pic- it was really windy and this was after Kayla finished her run.

Running Works...

The first picture was taken in April 2009- I was around 200lbs...this was after I originally lost 40lbs from dieting and doing the couch to 5k the first time and then dealt tendonitis in my hip flexor and couldn't run for 9 months and gained all the weight back!  So, I did the couch to 5k again and once again and now here it is 3 years later:)  I weigh 149 in the 2nd picture...oh and the first picture I am about a size 16 and the 2nd picture the skirt is a size 6!

Keep Calm...

My 2nd half marathon is in a week and a half...on Sunday, Feb. 12.  Am I ready, I sure hope so!  Training for this has been a great reminder to keep up with your measurements more than your weight.  I haven't really lost any weight..I weigh 149 but I have lost 1 1/2 inches in my "stomach" at my belly button....the hardest part for me to lose:)
